A collection of sparkly Hermiker Diamonds arrived in my workshop recently. I have been admiring the natural facets of these double-ended quartz crystals for some time. They take their name from the region in which they are found, as well as the clarity and sparkle of the stone.
I think they make for a wonderful alternative engagement ring, or an eclectic dress ring! I have started sketching a few ideas. I think they need to be held in claws, to reveal as much of the shape of the stone as possible, and allow the beautiful play of light the facets reflect. Simple settings, and organic inspired decoration - cast twigs, handmade leaves, bezel set pear cut gemstones - to create one of a kind pieces that you won't find in a big box shop.
I can't wait to start turning these beauties into rings. The bottom left stone is on hold, but the others are still available if you would like to snap one up for your own custom Christina Lowry Designs creation.
Starting price point is $200 in sterling silver.
